A miniature pressure regulator for pneumatically actuated robotics

This honours project focusses on the design of a small and light-weight pressure regulator for pneumatic muscles as used in many robotics applications (artificial hands, artificial limbs, humanoid robots, etc.). The regulator needs to reduce an input pressure of approximately 30 bar (450 psi) to a regulated output pressure of 2 bar (30 psi). Light weight materials are to be used in order to keep the weight of the entire system (regulator, muscle, linkages) at a minimum.
