The School of Mechanical Engineering uses a number of physical rigs to demonstrate control. These projects include:

• DC motor-generator system
• Fan-plate system
• Fan pingpong ball system
• Fan heater system
• Peltier plate system
• Mini dynamometer
• Lift system

All of these systems exhibit some form of non-linearity and suffer from noise, so present interesting real life systems on which controllers may be developed.
